The diary of Ana FrankTeatro Häagen-Dazs Calderón presents in Madrid the first musical play inspired by the life of Anne Frank, the girl who accounted the horrors of the Nazi holocaust in her diary. The show features music by José Luis Tierno and script by Jaime Azpilicueta, and is supported by the Anne Frank Foundation. This is an optimistic play, showing the girl's kindest and most endearing side, and its goal is to transmit the happiness, energy and passion for life with which Anne Frank experienced one of the darkest periods in the history of humanity.

sol_reloj.jpgThe main square of Madrid was named after a gate in the wall that stood there until 1510 and had a sun on its front.
In the course of the last five centuries, the square has been the centre of the city's intelectual and commercial life, and the first zone to have electrical lights.
From there radiated also the transports of Madrid and the whole Spain, and there is still a marker in the floor indicating the Point Zero, from where all the distances to Madrid are measured and the door numbers are counted in Spain.
One of the most remarkable buildings of the square is the Casa de Correos, the former head office of the Spanish post, built in the 18th century, which features a tower with a clock in each of its four faces; it is here that the people of Madrid celebrate the New Year.
Among the sculptures that can be seen in the square, two must be noted here: a Venus, copy of La Mariblanca which is at the Municipal Museum, and an equestrial statue of King Carlos III.

Caixa Forum MadridCaixaForum Madrid emerges as a live space opening its doors to old, modern and contemporary art, to music and poetry festivals, to multimedia art, to debates on current affairs, to social symposiums and family and educational workshops. The spectacular construction housing it, located on Paseo del Prado in a building which once was the Mediodía Electric Power Station, is already one of the new landmarks in our city.
The new centre of Obra Social "la Caixa" is conceived as a 21st-century sociocultural centre. The impressive building is a former electric power station rehabilitated by the architecture studio Herzog & de Meuron, and is located on Paseo del Prado, 36, next to the Art Walk with the three major museums in Madrid: the Prado, the Thyssen and the Reina Sofía. Its calendar is open to all disciplines and audiences, guaranteeing the success of an institution which contributes even more to the already rich cultural offering in Madrid.
