Coldplay in Madrid
The English group hits Madrid next September 7th to promote their latest release Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends. Coldplay return with this album after the success of X&Y,
which placed them as the heirs to U2's sound and which sold over 10
million copies since its release in 2005. The new album contains 10 new
songs that were recorded in London, Barcelona and New York.
The fourth album by Chris Martin's group has a sound that we know from his previous projects. There is more guitar, more distortion and a more visceral attitude than on previous albums. With all this, there is no loss of warmth and lyricism in the compositions, which provide the heart and soul on the London group.
'Viva La Vida' was produced by Brian Eno and Markus Dravs, and was recorded in Barcelona as well as other parts of the world. There were very special sessions in unique settings like churches and theatres. Coldplay's new album has 'Violet Hill' as the first track, which the band put on its Web site on 29 April.
