From 20 to 24 February, the Cibeles catwalk will celebrate its latest
edition under the new identity it adopted last year. The event, the
most important forum of Spanish clothes design, is directed at
professionals from the fashion world and reveals the main trends of the
coming season. SIMM, the Madrid International Fashion Show, which will
be held from the 12
th till the 14
th, completes this month's calendar, in which fashion is in the spotlight.
The Cibeles Fashion Week is back in Madrid under a new name, a name used last year for the first time: Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week. Its name was changed in order to strengthen the presence of Spanish fashion in the international arena while promoting Madrid as a design platform.
The fair is intended for professionals in the fashion sector and it will introduce the main trends for the next season. Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week will make it possible to get acquainted with the proposals of avant-garde, world famous designers.
This event brings together well know designers and designers that are just starting. Well-known, prestigious designers will present their proposals for the Spring-Summer season.
Last year, the show was also reinforced with the creation of a new fashion show. More than fifty designers will exhibit their vision of the latest fashion trends. Thus, the traditional Cibeles fashion show will be a platform for the most traditional and neutral creations while the new fashion show, Neptuno, will serve to display the most avant-garde proposals.
A second change after last year's fair was the integration of El Ego in the Cibeles Fashion Show. El Ego used to be held separately, as part of the general fashion show agenda in the Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week. It will be held next Friday and some of the most outstanding young designers will take part in it.
Another innovation this year is the integration of Ego in Pasarela Cibeles, which used to take place separately on previous years, as part of the general agenda of fashion shows in Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week. El Ego will take place on Friday and some of the best known young Spanish designers will take part in it.
Traditionally aimed at promoting Spanish young designers, El Ego will bring together the creations of those young designers for whom fashion is the balance between creativity, innovation, technique and functionality.
