From June 9 to July 25, the International Festival of Photography and Visual Arts will be showcasing creations by 372 artists

Like previous years, the thirteenth edition of the International Festival of Photography and Visual Arts (PHotoEspaña) will be staged in dozens of museums, art galleries and cultural spaces in Madrid. All venues will showcase art created by hundreds of artists in a total of 69 exhibitions, 31 of which are included in the Official Section, with 'time' as the common subject matter.

As an increasingly international fair, PhotoEspaña 2010 will welcome artists from 41 different countries who will present their work individually or collectively in the festival's different sections. In the Official Section, over thirty shows will be structured around the topic proposed by Sérgio Mah, who repeats as the festival curator. One of the most notable exhibitions is the first Helen Levitt anthology, which appears after her death last year. Entitled Lírica urbana. Fotografías 1936-1993 (Urban Lyricism. Photographs 1936-1993), these 120 images present different examples of street photography spanning from the onset of her career.
